Well, I don't know what y'all are doing today, but I know what I'm doing. Looking conspicuously light skinned as I help Momma at the food tent at the Tonawanda Seneca Field Day. Lots of lacrosse, fry bread, and Indian Jewelry. I don't know what else goes on there, because I haven't been in ten years because I am petrified that one of the women is going to want to kick my ass. Despite the fact that I am happily married, if my gaze is even 100 feet near one of the ladies' men, there's a whole lot of fighting going on. And running, because have you seen some of those girls? They are big. I wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley at night. Or any time during the day. Or at all. I'm not talking about obese huge. I'm talking about well developed muscles, solid bodies huge. It's the men that are skinny. You could knock 'em over with a stick. The women are the hunters and gatherers of the tribe, so to speak. Of men, anyway. So wish me an uneventful day, and I'll take some nice pictures of the lacrosse games and any other interesting thing I see. I'd invite y'all to stop by, but I seriously doubt that any of you are in Western New York for the day. If you are, c'mon down! I'll be the one cowering in the food tent.
Yeah, lacrosse! Sometimes during pro lacrosse games here, a group of Indian men will start beating a drum and chanting, which is supposed to rally our team but usually results in the other team scoring.
