...keeps on turnin'.
Know what we did today kids?
We drove from Charlotte to Charleston to Charlotte. 8 hours with an unusually charming 8 month old.
It seems that while yours truly was making accomodations, I didn't have the foresight to predict what I would do with the rental car should I actually get a job up here. Which I ummm, did.
So poor TBA had to ride down with me, wait while I returned the car (By the way, if you're in Charleston? Don't rent from Thrifty. Just don't.), and then drive my sorry not Charlotte knowing ass back to Charlotte. God, I am SURE she is so excited! that I am came to visit.
So I have provided you, dear reader, with the same view I had all day. A lovely, round, steering wheel. Which is unfortunately neither funny, nor amusing, nor Georgia O'Keefe-ish, nor phallic. *Sigh* What's a girl to do?
In other bizarre news, I just recently learned that a girl I know likes to have orgasms through electrical shock. Ummm, azzzphincter says WHAT?! And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Katrina's wrath has been far reaching. I haven't been able to bring myself to think about what has actually happened to the city. I have friends who live and prosper(ed) there...it just blows my mind. And ummm, looters? What the fuck are you going to do with those 45 pairs of Nike's in size 4 that you have shoved on a rack as you're dragging it down the street? Formula, food, water, okay. Nikes? Laptops? Pssst...those aren't so great when sopping wet.
I'm trying to abstain from commenting about the situation lest I shoot myself in the foot.
BANG!
Talk about your role reversals... I'm in Japan and you're in Carolina. Umm... (in my best "Get Smart" voice) missed you by much.
Rob
Congrats on the job.
I agree with you on the looters, it's one thing to take food and diapers, quite another to take wide screen tv's. Like where in the world are they going to use it?
it is so, so upsetting. Our house is uptown, in the Garden District, and we think it's probably survived flooding (ie, not much flooding there) but my mom is really scared of looters. My grandparents' house, I'm pretty sure, is underwater.
Congrats on the new job! The only time I've ever been to Charlotte was passing through during layovers in the airport. I've always wanted to see what the city was like.
