Dilemma o' the Day 2

So, remember that surgery I had? It left some scars. One is perpendicular to my belly button, one is above my hip and runs horizontally, and the other, the tiniest one, is right above my pubic bone, on the left side. Nothing exciting. We all have scars, dahling. So what's my problem? They itch. Like a motherfucker. And I'm not talking about your lackadaisical scratch while you're talking itch that goes away within ten seconds, no sirree. I'm talking chicken pox itch. Poison Ivy, Sumac and Mosquito Bite itch. Scratch scratch scratch until your skin comes off itch.

Now mostly, I am itchy at home. Now that dh is used to it, he doesn't even blink to find me standing there with my hand mostway down my pants, face contorted, saying "Ahhhh, that's nice." Sometimes he'll even offer to scratch for me, but I think he has higher motives.

Today, as I hopped in my car on the way to lunch, felt like my scars were on fire and scratched them as hard as I could, I thought, "Damn, imagine if there were a parent walking by right now. Here I am sitting in front of the Kindergarten pod where there are great big windows letting you see right into the classrooms. I'm lucky I don't get arrested."

Maybe Paul Ruben had a laparoscopy and was scratching his scars. *scratch scratch*

You crack my ass up, Alex. I know what you mean about itching a surgery scar. Fortunately, mine's on my foot, so it's...uh... less "dramatic."

LOL! That pesky scar tissue! Did you try putting some vitamin E lotion on it? The skin healed tight, it needs some elasticity.

Try Mederma - it works great!

Babe, I can relate and it sucks!!!! I had two c-sections and the damn scar always itches. Drives me crazy and yes Hubby offers to help ;) Why can't he offer to help clean the house, or cook dinner?! Ha!

I put aloe vera cream on it and it makes it a 'tad' better - I refer to it as a 'flare up' lol

I have c-section scars too, recently I started using unscented Oatmeal lotion and it helps alot. It also helps with the damn dry skin I get every friggin winter.

Nothing like going around scratching your ass cheeks.
